_Overview and basic functionality of WYSIWYG Editor

Below is basic description of the functionality of the various buttons on the WYSIWYG Editor toolbar.

  1. Full Screen - expands the editor to full-screen mode. When in full-screen mode, click this button to reduce the editor back to standard mode.
  2. Source Code - allows you to edit the source code directly. This should only be used by users familiar with HTML code.
  3. Cut - when content in the editor is highlighted and then this button is clicked, the highlighted content is "cut" and temporarily placed on your computer's clipboard.
  4. Copy - when content in the editor is highlighted and then this button is clicked, the highlighted content is "copied" and temporarily placed on your computer's clipboard.
  5. Paste - when this button is clicked, the content on your computer's clipboard is pasted into the editor.
  6. Paste as plain text - same as "Paste" (5) except the content is pasted as plain text (no formatting).
  7. Paste from WORD - same as "Paste" (5) except this button gives you the option to clean up the formatting when pasting from content copied from WORD.
  8. Undo - undo the last action that you performed in the editor.
  9. Redo - redo the last undone action.
  10. Find - search for a word(s) in the content of the editor.
  11. Find and Replace - search for a word(s) in the content of the editor and replace it/them with another word(s).
  12. Select All - selects all content in the editor.
  13. Remove Formatting - removes the formatting for content that is highlighted in the editor.

  14. Bold - bolds all text that is highlighted in the editor.
  15. Italicize - italicizes all text that is highlighted in the editor.
  16. Underline - underlines all text that is highlighted in the editor.
  17. Strike through - places a line through all text that is highlighted in the editor.
  18. Subscript - makes all text that is highlighted "subscript".
  19. Superscript - makes all text that is highlighted "superscript".
  20. Numbered List - adds/removes a numbered list.
  21. Bulleted List - adds/removes a bulleted list.
  22. Decrease Indent - decreases the amount of indention for a bulleted list.
  23. Increase Indent - increases the amount of indention for a bulleted list.
  24. Left Justify - left justifies highlight text.
  25. Center Justify - center justifies highligted text.
  26. Right Justify - right justifies highligted text.
  27. Block Justify - block justifiles highlighted text.
  28. Insert/Edit Link - insert or edit a hyperlink associated with the highlighted text/object.
  29. Remove Link - remove a hyperlink associated with the highlighted text/object.
  30. Insert/Edit Anchor - insert or edit an anchor.

  31. Font - changes the font for all highlighted text.
  32. Size - changes the size of the font for all highlighted text.
  33. Text Color - used to change the color of the text for all highlighted text. Click here to find out how to maintain color consistency throughout your website.
  34. Background Color - used to change the color behind the highlighted text.
  35. Insert/Edit Image - use this feature to add/edit one or more pictures on your page. To add just one picture to your page, we recommend that you use the built-in picture feature located above the WYSIWYG Editor.
  36. Insert/Edit Flash - use this feature to add/edit FLASH on your page.
  37. Insert/Edit Table - use this feature to add/edit a table(s). Once you insert a table, you can also "right-click" to edit the elements of the table.
  38. Insert Horizontal Bar - use this button to add a horizontal bar on your page.
  39. Insert Smiley - use this button to insert various face icons on your page.
  40. Insert Special Character - use this feature to insert a special character (trademarks, etc.) on your page.
